Bansko Jazz Festival 2025

I’d heard about the Bansko Jazz Festival for as long as I can remember, but somehow, I’d never actually been to it. This year, I finally made it there, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait!

Walking through the town, it felt like every street and square was humming with music—sometimes from the main stage, sometimes just drifting out of a tiny bar or from a group of street musicians playing under a balcony. Even when the rain tried to dampen things, nobody seemed to mind. Umbrellas went up, but the music kept going.

I was struck the most by the crowd. People of all ages, locals and visitors, packed together—some dancing, some just soaking it all in. By the end of the week, the weather cleared and Bansko was more alive than I’ve seen it in years. There’s something about hearing jazz echo off old stone buildings, surrounded by mountains, that makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger.

I’m glad I finally made it to the Jazz Fest, and these few photos capture only a glimpse of the magic.
