As a creator, you don’t always need to build massive products to make an impact. Sometimes, a niche yet powerful tool can change the way someone sees the world. And, that’s more than enough.
Ever since I have made the Cinematic Color Negative picture profile available online, I have seen a slow, but steady stream of purchases. Like I’ve said it many times before, my goal with it has been first and foremost to scratch a personal itch, not to make a fortune. To be really honest, I was even wondering if anyone outside of Dave Lawrence has really used it in earnest.
That was, until I received this short email yesterday:
Subject: I had so much fun with your Cinematic Color Negative!
Hi,
I just want to say thank you making the Cinematic Color Negative picture style for Canon.
I loaded it into my Canon R50 and I had so much fun with it. Here are some of photos I took at my hometown Melaka, Malaysia. All photos are SOOC.
Best regards,

This little act of gratitude made my week! It reminded me why I do what I do, and how even small contributions can make a difference in someone’s creative journey.
Of course, I contacted the customer immediately, and with their permission, I am sharing some of the photos they took using the Cinematic Color Negative profile below:

Look at those outstanding reds! I don’t know about you, but I find them fantastic!
